Newcastle v Villarreal

Team news ahead of tonight’s friendly against Villarreal. Newcastle will be looking for a win after a 3-2 defeat to PSV last week.

Villarreal were recently knocked out of the Intertoto Cup, meaning no European football for last season’s Champions League semi-finalists.

They will be looking to boost morale ahead of the start of La Liga.

Kieron Dyer and Michael Owen are of course, still out for Newcastle, who are likely to start with new signing Damien Duff again as he attempts to boost his fitness before the start of the Premiership campaign.
