Newcastle's search for a striker looks to be finally over after a fee of £10m was agreed for Inter and Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins.

Martins, 21, is now expected to complete the move either today or tomorrow after agreeing personal terms and undergoing a medical at St. James'.

Whilst the Ventspils game will probably come too soon, a debut against Villa on Sunday seems likely, particularly with injuries already mounting following the opening day victory over Wigan.

Earlier, Martins had told BBC Sport that the deal was 80% complete and that it has been a dream of his to play in the Premiership, a dream he is now set to realise. The deal now looks to be more than 80% done with the fee between the two clubs now agreed.

It remains to be seen who else, if anyone, will join Martins and Duff through the St James' Park doors this season but Tyne Talk will bring you the latest news as it happens.
