Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson has stated that Mark Viduka will not be going to Newcastle United.

At a press conference to unveil new signing, Jonathon Woodgate, Gibson revealed that Viduka was ‘not going anywhere’.

Newcastle have reportedly shown interest in the Australian but Gibson rejects claims of any move.

Gibson said:

“Mark’s an important part of our plans. He’s a Middlesbrough player and is staying at Middlesbrough."

It was even suggested that James Milner would be offered for Viduka but Boro, despite signing Jason Euell, do not want to sell.

Although Roeder may be disappointed at missing out on Viduka, his striker worries have been relieved by the loan signing of Rossi from Manchester United.
