Duff Blames Team

Newcastle United winger Damien Duff has said that no-one is to blame for the poor run of results except the team.

Newcastle have picked up just 2 points from their last 7 games and have slumped to a shocking 19^th in the table.

Duff has been forced to play as an emergency striker with Owen, Ameobi, Martins and Sibierski all injured, which is no doubt also contributing to Newcastle’s problems.

But the former Chelsea winger insists this is no excuse.

Duff said:

“Stick is flying around and deservedly so. It is us players you can blame and no-one else, really.

"We have not got the biggest of squads and we are struggling with injuries, but with the 11 players we had out on Saturday, you would still expect to win that type of game at St James' Park.

"But we will take it on the chin, keep working hard and move on."
