Newcastle United and Glenn Roeder desperately need a win in tonights Carling Cup match away at Watford.

The Magpies need a boost after a poor run of form in the Premiership, and no excuses will be accepted by the Toon fans if Newcastle fail to win tonight.

Newcastle’s injury woes go on as Owen, Ameobi and Obafemi Martins are all out injured, leaving Newcastle very short upfront. However, Antoine Sibierski could return tonight.

Given is expected to travel with the squad after his operation, but it is likely that Steve Harper will still start. Dyer remains out with an eye injury.

Richard Lee will remain in goal for Watford ahead of an injured Foster.

Watford may even put out a weaker squad, with Blizzard, Priskin and Jarrett all likely to feature.
