Newcastle United manager Glenn Roeder has praised Obafemi Martins for his cracking goal against Spurs at the weekend.

And Roeder has praised the recent efforts and form on the striker.
Roeder said:
"That goal was the hardest shot I have ever seen on a football pitch."
"I never saw the ball until it hit the back of the net. I watched Oba pull the trigger and the next thing I saw was the net billow.
"We see goals like that every day in training and I have a feeling we'll be seeing goals like that more and more often from him.
"Next year, once he settles in, he will be even better. He's an exciting two-footed player and I firmly believe the best is yet to come."
Like all good players however, Martins was modest about it.
Martins said:
"Maybe it's my best goal, I don't really know,"
"What I do know is that is was only my second attempt at scoring all afternoon and I was just happy that the ball went in the net."
