Newcastle United striker Andrew Carroll has been handed a new 4-year-contract by Glenn Roeder.

The forward is a product of Newcastle’s youth system, and the 18-year old has already made 2 Premiership appearances for the Magpies.

His most notable appearance recently was in Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth, in which he came on as a second half substitute and had a cracking game.

This has been rewarded with a long-term deal, as Roeder continues to build up the youth system at Newcastle.

His agent, Peter Harrison said:

"Andrew has been offered a new four-year contract.

"He is delighted with the way things have been going and obviously the club feel the same.

"He has been doing really well and he is looking forward to signing an extension."
