Newcastle Midfielder Matthew Pattison has today moved on a loan deal to Norwich City where he will be reunited with former Newcastle United manager Glenn Roeder. The 21 year old, South African who made 12 appearences for Newcastle last season under Roeder will stay with Norwich until the end of the 2007/2008 season.

Roeder has been a fan of Pattison since he was Academy Manager at St James' Park, he gave the following interview:

"When I was the Academy manager at Newcastle, I was told that Matty Pattison would be our best player to come through into the first team and when I saw him play I was not disappointed,

When I became the manager at Newcastle, I used him both as a substitute and starting a number of games. He's a tough lad, the right sort for where we are now - he does not know what it is to lose."
