Bitter Sam Slates Toon - The Club Wasnt Big Enough

Sam Allardyce has come across as a bitter old man after his departure from Newcastle United FC. He reappeared after a few weeks off, on Sky Sports last weekend to commentate from the Sky studio on the Newcastle v Middlesbrough match and the match which followed.
It was noticeable on this outing that he resented the fact that he had been sacked as manager of this big club as soon as he spoke of their performance.
Comments referring to being sacked despite not doing anything wrong as such were spiteful and unnecessary.
This weekend he has continued with the comments and given an interview claiming that Newcastle United FC are not a big enough club for him and that it didnt live up to his expectations. He finds himself completely blameless for the performances given by the team he picked week in and week out.
(Whilst I am reknowned for my opinion that the players provide the results - the manager has to take some responsibility, as they would if a win were on the cards take some of the credit)
He said:
"When you get sacked, reflection is a difficult scenario. The one thing you have tio evaluate first and foremost is how much of it was your fault,
I think you can accept it a lot more if you can come to terms with the fact that a good percentage of it was your fault - but that doesn't apply to me at Newcastle.
The usual rubbish that goes when someone like me is sacked from a club like Newcastle is that that job was too big for me. That's just not true.
If I'm honest the reverse is probably true. Newcastle probably wasn't big enough for me - it didn't live up to my ambitions in the short time that I was there. And because it didn't do that the club missed a chance to realise its own ambitions."
The former manager of big club, Bolton, went on to say;
"The more I analyse it, the more I come to the conclusion that it was never about me or results.
It was about things they wanted to put in place."
Unfortunately for Sam Allardyce he left a long stint at Bolton Wanderers to take charge of Newcastle, only he made that choice and for him, comments like this will not help people sympathise for him, which seems to be the attention he requires.
Good luck to him at his next Big Club, though I cannot see the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, etc replacing their current manager with him.
I myself liked Sam Allardyce - these comments have completely changed my opinion of him and has made me doubt his professionalism, arrogance is not a nice trait to have. This proves he never had the 5 year plan he claimed to have for Newcastle United.

You should have kept faith in him just like everton kept faith in David moyes..but as always Newcastle are after a quick fix!
Keegan has made no improvement to the side in the January window...
James Mcfadden,Jermain Defoe,Alan Stubbs,Gary Cahill and Erik Edman all missed by Special K.
Your deluded love of Kevin keegan of the past has blinded the inept (I have'nt watched a game for 2 years) keegan of the present!!
And telling the team in his teamtalk to 'pass the ball better than Ar5ena1'about sums it up!!
sad really.

Our FORMER chairman appointed him and this was partly Allardyce's downfall.
I also think you talk rather collectively - I have no deluded love for Keegan - I know many geordies who also werent sure on his appointment.

Just sounds really bitter to me & i feel a bit disapointed i thought better of him!

Spot on.
He didn't get the first choices or money he thought he'd get.
He didn't ruin the club - I was no great fan of the football over his tenure - but he didn't do that badly by us and I hold no bitterness towards him me'sel...
..just seems a lot of resentment towards the fella round the boards..can see him going to a fizzy pop club and bringing them up..People on here will know I had no problem with him being brought in = providing he was given the time - he wasnt and thats the boards downfall. However this behaviour is just unprofessional In my opinion.
His opinion has no bearing on NUFC anymore.
