Harry Takes A Swipe At Keegan

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has taken a swipe at Keegan's tactics after Newcastle held Portsmouth in a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening, Mainly he critcised Keegan's use of striker Michael Owen and the effectiveness the player has in his current position, where Owen has dropped behind team mates Mark Viduka and Obafemi Martins, and as a result Newcastle are scoring goals.
Redknapp said:
"If you are asking me if I could see Michael playing for England in that position then, no, I couldn't.
For me he's an on-the-shoulder striker who wants to make runs and get in there and score goals."
Keegan has this week urged England manager Fabio Capello to make use of Owen and experiment with the England International before the big games begin.
Keegan said:
"He's our leader now and covers phenomenal distances during matches. He's a fantastic player and I didn't know how good he is when I had him with England.
I think he could offer Fabio Capello a real solution in the position he's playing.
He can win the ball back for us and burst forward into the box. He's scored in his last four matches before this so none of that has deserted him.
I think Capello, now that he hasn't got to qualify for anything for a while, should take a look at him there when he can.
People know how I rate Michael and I'm confident he's going to sign a new contract with us and be here for the next three or four years leading us."
it should be taken as a given that people on this site are fans, so any editorial bent should be towards exposing the media stirrers, rather than poking us like you would a wasps nest!
Right now he does know results, though, and that's all I really give a damn about. I bet most England supporters would say the same thing.
But Harry, while on the topic of tactics, let's talk about a side that sets out to contain an opponent six places below them on the table at home.
