Newcastle United are said to have had a £5.7million bid accepted for Deportivo La Coruna striker Francisco Xisco. The bid for the 22 year old, Spanish under 21 international, who has a record of 12 goals in 44 games for Deportivo has been confirmed by the head coach Miguel Angel Lotina, though he has said that he is unaware a deal has gone through.
"Today I was told that there are a lot of possibilities that he will go to Newcastle.
He is an important player but the offer which Newcastle made must also have been important.
"Moreover, he has only two years left on his contract and it is obvious that if he doesn't renew, he'll go.
I don't have confirmation that it has been done, but an offer exists."
Xisco will be following former team-mate Coloccini who joined Newcastle earlier in the transfer window.
