Joey Barton has refused to comment on speculation linking him with a move away from Newcastle United this evening and has publically declared he owes the club and fans an awful lot after what he has put them through.
The 25 year old had been linked with two top ten premier league clubs this evening, thought to have been Aston Villa and Portsmouth, but neither club confirmed an interest and everything currently looks quiet, indicating the midfielder could indeed see out his Newcastle contract despite the FA deciding on what disciplinary action to take against him on Friday 5th September.
Barton told Sky Sports:
"I didn't want to comment on speculation but I didn't want to leave Newcastle because I owe the club and the fans so much because of everything I have put them through."
taking into account his history there should be a clause in his contract saying he'll only get paid if he's available to play (obviously not including when injured)
the guy is trying to put things right and as toon fans we should get behind him weather its right or not because lets face it our midfield is far from ideal and barton is prob the best cm at the club!!!
