NUSC Calls For Fans Support
By Tyne-Talk
March 26 2009
Earlier today Graham Harper of the Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) emailed Tyne-Talk with the following Press Release. Unlike some of the previous statements which have come from the supporters club, this release is requesting all fans get behind the NUFC, fill the seats and support the players. A rallying call to prove we are "united".
Altogether Now - Rallying call to supporters
"Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) urges all fans to join together for a final push to fight the nightmare of finishing in the bottom three.
We can't pick the team, select a manager, dictate tactics or buy and sell players. What we can do is fill the ground for each of the four remaining home matches, just as we know the hardcore away support will take up every away ticket.
Support for the team comes first and we urge everyone to make that the priority for the remaining weeks of the season. When the dust settles on this nightmare season that will be the time for supporters to decide if they want to pay their money and put their faith in whoever is running the club.
For many supporters not going to the match will never be a choice but many others may only continue to financially support Newcastle United if it is once again heading in the right direction.
Let's send out a message to Mike Ashley and any prospective owner - the supporters are the club's biggest asset and that with a truly ‘United' club there is no limit to what can be achieved. The aim of a truly ‘United' club will also be our future challenge to them."

I just think that we have the calibre of players in our squad who are capable of pulling off a great escape.
And yes, every Geordie is 100% behind the team.

Damn straight! Even us honourary ones from across the pond!

Is there a suggestion here that if we could we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place? Or am I reading between the lines too much?
Anyway, Graham Harper is right, the team does come first. We already know that, it's a pity that the likes of Ashley and co. do not.
