Kinnear Could Have Comeback Delayed

Joe Kinnear's health will not be put at risk by Newcastle United who will insist that he gets full doctors clearance prior to returning to work as club manager. The 62 year old who had pencilled in the Spurs game on the 19th April to return, could now be looking at leaving it an extra month and making his comeback in May.

Managing Director Derek Llambias was quoted by the media today saying that the club and Kinnear will have a better idea of how well he is recovering when he undergoes a series of tests on April 6^th.

Kinnear who underwent a triple heart bypass earlier in the year is keen to get back into the swing of things and steer Newcastle to safety, but the club will only allow his return to work when medics give the all clear.

Llambias said;

"Joe is desperate to come back but we have to be sensible. If anything, we are going to have to hold him back at times because he's so enthusiastic. We can't have him leaping around on the touchline.

He's looking good and is feeling a lot stronger. He goes for a load of tests on April 6 which is the big one. As long as the results come back okay we'll take it from there."
