Alan Shearer has selected Shola Ameobi to start upfront today alongside Michael Owen, shockingly opting to leave Obafemi Martins out of the team. Andy Carroll and Nile Ranger both make the substitutes bench. Colocinni has been dropped to the bench as predicted whilst Bassong is back in the starting 11.

That is a big worry with Martins. I hope he is injured or Shearer will tear him a new one.
He didnt seem bothered against Chelsea then wakes up at eleven saying he has a groin strain! Was he on the nest last night?
Not sure what the crack is but Shearer was not happy about it after the game on the Setanta post match interview.
If he is putting it on (and I dont know why he would) his wages should be stopped and sold in the summer.
He could just have a groin strain though.
