Groin Strain Keeps Martins Out

Alan Shearer has told Setanta Sports that Obafemi Martins was due to play up until 11am this morning, when he rang in complaining of a groin injury. The Nigerian Striker was subsequently removed from the team sheet. The news comes after Shearer was quoted saying how important Martins is to the side in their bid for safety.

Martins joins Steven Taylor, Jose Enrique and Peter Lovenkrands on the injury list.
