Oba Passes Medical At Wolfsburg

Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins has passed a medical at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. After spending yesterday negotiating the terms of the move, Martin's returned to the club today to have his medical. It is said he has been holding out for a wage packet similar to what he is on at Newcastle, since the clubs agreed a 10.5 million Euro fee (£9million) on Wednesday.

Martins who joined Newcastle in 2006 and has just recovered from a hernia operation was removed from the midweek squad which drew 0-0 with Leeds United, fuelling speculation he was set to leave sooner rather than later.

Earlier in the week Martins said of the proposed move;

"The Bundesliga will soon be the best league in the world. Therefore Wolfsburg excites me. I hope the transfer happens."
