McCarthy Considers Allowing Vokes Out On Loan

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed he could be prepared to let 19 year old striker Sam Vokes go out on loan this season, a prospect both Newcastle United and north east rivals Middlesbrough will relish.

Newcastle, who lost 3 of their strikers this summer (Martins, Owen & Viduka) are in desperate need of incoming players to cover Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi, should they be out through injury. Whilst at present the younger squad players are able to cover, the team is so limited in size that another injury could cause huge problems.

McCarthy told the Wolves official website;

"We'll see what happens when everyone gets back from the international duty. Sam really needs to play some football.

There was half a chance he could have gone out last week. For him to develop and for us to benefit he has to play regularly.

Sam has had a meteoric rise from Bournemouth and for him to improve he's got to play some football so there's a chance he can go out."

I agree BUT given Fatbgoys blatant disregard for the welfare of our club, I'll take whatever players we can get for however long or short a time.
We just need bodies in.

It's very easy to blame Fatboy for everything and give up, but we don't have to be defeatest.

Signing loanees with a buy-out clause isn't something he'd care about.

Pretty much every Championship club is run on a shoe string.



As for Vokes, I've never seen him play but if he's target man as his profile suggest he's not needed. Carrol, Strola and Ranger are all target men.

we need some more pace up front, and before anyone beats me to it yes we have lovenkrands but I would like to see him on the wing more than as a striker.

If we were to get a forward then Andrew is right we need one with pace, rather than go with a target man. But I would want to see Lovenkrands up front
