Match Preview/Stats/Thread: Newcastle Utd v Peterborough Utd
By Tyne-Talk
November 6 2009
With Newcastle United sitting on top spot and hoping to increase their lead, Peterborough United are 23rd and hoping three points will lift them from the red. Chris Hughton's men have picked up form lately with two consecutive wins on the back of two defeats and two draws; Peterborough however have won just once in their last six games and conceded 13 goals.
Newcastle host at ST JAMES' PARK with minimal injuries in comparison to previous games; Steven Taylor returns to the side having recovered from injury but Zurab Khizanishvili will serve the 2nd game of his three match ban whilst Joey Barton (foot) and Shola Ameobi (foot) remain absent.
If Kevin Nolan starts he will continue to be the only player to have played every minute of league football this season for Newcastle United.
Peterborough are without Tom Williams (ankle) but welcome back goal keeper Joe Lewis from suspension. Striker Craig Mackail Smith (ankle) is a possibility to return as is midfielder Paul Coutts (foot) though unconfirmed at present.
Fact: In 9 meetings in all competitions each club have won 4 a piece with 1 draw making up the ninth game.
Fact: Peterborough are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home this season and are still looking for their first away win of the season.

I'm going with 2-0.

Taylor, Nolan, Guthrie, Gutierrez, Harewood, Smith, Carroll
Substitutes
Krul, Taylor, Kadar, Geremi, Butt, Lovenkrands, Ranger
Good attacking changes although I would have had Ranger start ahead of Harewood. The commentator has just said "it looks like Newcastle have the beating of Peterborough all day everyday."

Man City are 2-0 at home to Burnley
