We are the only team in top 13 with a negative goal difference, something not helped by our defeats to Cardiff (4-0), West Brom (5-0) and Crystal Palace (3-0), so in many ways it is like having a one point deduction.

A lot of people say the Championship is a difficult division, but Newcastle seem to have found a simple formula, which is just to win virtually every match.

I don't know what Newcastle are doing in this division, but I can't see them being there next season.

We need to cash in on Scott Loach in January.

I don't think he is all that worse than Richard Lee.

Carroll on for Harewood

I think Lovernkrands has dropped to the wing, Guthrie in the middle and Carroll up front by himself

Loverkrands going off, Butt coming on. Guthrie going back on the wing.

Quite a bit to go, big ask with 10 men but we need another goal

Pancrate on for Guthrie, all subs done, bit risky if we get an injury we could be down to 9 men.

Quite a few of the regulars don't live in Newcastle, like myself. Got quite a few on international land.

2 late goals for West Brom look that they won it, Derby score to take it 2-2.

what a great day to win again. it sounded like hard work, but we are getting a great habit of winning games without giving our best. players coming back, like barton and shola, plus possible signings, like kilgallon, will provide the competition which should help performances to improve. we could very well be out of sight (of third place) after another 10 games.
it wouldnt be newcastle for things to run that smoothly, but we certainly look the part at the minute as league leaders. long may it continue!

As for the game, I just saw the goals now. What were Watford doing at the back for the 1st goal! Great pressure by Harewood though. Nolan's red card was very unnecessary. No need to lunge (not sure on the spelling) in like that especially when on a yellow. Would expect better from him. Pancrate's goal was sure brilliance though. Controlled the ball well and then with two players coming either side, he turned quickly and rifled home a stunning left foot shot in off the cross bar.

Thanks Annie, it was a bit boring and when I am on during match day I love the crack that everybody has. But I know what it is like as I am sometimes busy myself, and I know that they are quite a few workers who have to work weekends that come on the website, plus the ones that live abroad, and then the lucky ones that go to the match

Great result, not really bothered how we played as 3 points are more important, and it seemed like a harder game that I first thought.

Just got back from graft and was at the match before. Bit of a mixed one.

Again a bit devoid of ideas but everyone was fighting for each other. Like the Swansea game with people throwing themselves in front of everything.

Defence was again class with Jose top man this week (Colo was against Swansea which hasnt been mentioned). Jonas was also excellent.

Look a different team with a proper right winger and what a goal, it was right in front of us and came just at the right time as they were coming back into it. Dont see why he shouldnt start on Wednesday with Guthrie going into the middle due to Nolans suspension.

Yeah I hope Pancrate gets a start against Coventry. Its going to be a challenging period for us now, as we have 4 of our next six league games away from home. Its fantastic hearing how the lads are fighting for each other (and not with each other) which has not always happened in recent seasons. Every strong team is built on a good defence and hearing the defence looking classy is still very encouraging.

I know what you mean, really bad myself at them, but may have to see how your next predication goes, if you get it right then may have to stick a few quid on in the future

What's your next predication, going to stick a bet on

I'll be disappointed if we don't win 2-0 again.

Having had a look at Barnsley's record - They've almost as many goals for as against I'm thinking 2-1 to us.
