SHEARER BACKS KEV
Shearer told The Sun, "He will be okay. He is and always has been a fighter.
"He has great character and, very importantly, he has great characters around him on his staff at City.
"When you have men of the calibre of Derek Fazackerley, Arthur Cox and Stu Pearce then you will be up for a fight.
"They are proper characters in the game. No, the thought of Kevin going has never entered my head. They will get it right.
"They are in a sticky spell but it happens to the very best. There's no chance he'll accept defeat.
"He is a man we need in the game, without a doubt. The game needs him because he loves it. He is so passionate about football and I think the game loves Kevin Keegan.
"It honestly hasn't entered my head about him leaving the game and him not being in it."
