Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has revealed that Magpis' manager Sir Bobby Robson has asked him to sign a longer contract.
SHOLA TO SIGN DEAL
Ameobi revealed: "I have two years of my current contract to run at the end of the season.
"I just get on with playing my football, but three weeks ago the manager Mr Robson pulled me into his office and asked me what was happening with my contract.
"I didn't know if anything had moved on since the summer when it had been agreed that we should sit down and talk.
"He said 'We should be talking about it, I want you on a longer-term deal' - and that was great for me to hear. But nothing has happened."
He added: "Nothing will change. I'll continue to work in training to make myself a better player.
"But I have to say that I don't feel I have been treated fairly. But I will just get on with it, I love playing for my football club."
