FANS SPEAK OUT: Fans Reaction To Deafet

By Matthew Jones
December 28 2003

Reaction from the Blackburn Rovers defeat. Several fans have given thier view on the game (and one or two have mentioned the Leicester City game) - and they are not happy at all. We should have had 6 points from our last two games, and we get one. I am appauled by our recent performances.

FANS REACTION TO BLACKBURN DEFEAT

Y I Man:

Well lads you've really done us proud. 1-1 away to the mighty Leicester and restricting the elusive Blackburn to a 1-0 win at St. James.

Well, you might think you've done well, but I think you are an absolute FCUKing disgrace. 1-1 away to Leicester is a FCUKing disgrace. 1-0 at home to a team 4th bottom of the Premiership is a disgrace in itself, but the manner of defeat made it even harder to swallow - totally lacking in effort, invention and heart. Even at 1-0 down you looked like you were out for a XMas stroll with the dogs.

SBR, I beg you, get Fat Freddy to give you a late Xmas prezzy - about £15m should do. I reckon you would like, for a start:

Scott Parker - then Gary Speed can be put out to pasture. I know a nice little paddock up Crook way.

Yours one disgruntled fan. The only saving grace is that I couldn't get a ticket to witness todays FCUKing shambles in person.

Jasminder:

Probably the reason we lost today and only drew with leicester is cos dyer was out. He is so important to our play and i've always thought it, JJ is NOT a similar player to him, and does not make the same kind of dynamic runs, let's hope he gets well soon, eh? Plus Woody and Bellers obviously, Bellers and Dyer are frighteningly good when together.

As for today it was a f***ing disgrace. If we finish 4th and play like that in the champions leaue we'll only embarrass ourselves. I haven't seen such a poor performance for a long time.

AND....Mr Halsey, just in case you couldn't see with a clear view from 4 yards away, gallagher punched that ball in2 the net.

Thank god its january soon, open up ure wallet now ff.

Brian Garrity:

We played against two poor, but hardworking teams and we managed one goal and created very few chances. To say that is disappointing is the understatement of the year. There was no pattern to our play, little tempo and we looked pedestrian. The couple of bits of skill stood out a mile and we badly lacked passion and creativity. At least Viana looked as if he wanted the ball when he came on.

How we miss the pace of Bellamy and Dyer - we badly need Woody and Bellamy back in the team and a new striker. We may have cover for Dyer but the absence of Bellamy as well means teams can nullify us and we look sterile as teams don't have our central midfielders breking with pace into the box - so they only have Shearer to worry about.

For me in the transfer window a new striker and a bid for Hamann - having a natural and experienced defensive midfielder to sit in front of the back four and protect, should allow for Bowyer, Dyer or Viana to play their natural attacking game.

Like every other Toon supporter I am totally dejected.xWe played against two poor, but hardworking teams and we managed one goal and created very few chances. We were sh1te, absolute sh1te, the players and manager need to take a long hard look at themselves to try and sort this out. We need to clearout the players who are never going to be good enough for a top 3 or 4 team.

Hughes is 24, and hes getting no better, no aggresion, poor positionally, cant tackle and cant pass a ball 10 yards.

O'Brien - see above, a total disaster.

Lua Lua, nothing to say but the only end product he ever makes is the bloody offside flag.

While your at it get rid of elliot, quinn, cort, mcclen, and dabizas, if you could get 3 million for the lot you would be lucky, and think what you would save off the wage bill. We might actually be able to replace them 8 with one player who is good enough.

As for the team selection and subs what the hell is going on. can anyone remember Jenas's last good game?? No wonder Viana is sick Robsons having a laugh at his expense. You might say Viana has done nothing to deserve his place but have any of the others??? and they play week in and week out, Viana gets 5 minutes here and there.

When was the last time we created something from the middle of the park??? Middle of last season pehaps, no passion, no quality, no heart, beaten by bloddy blackburn at home who were also sh1te.

Everytime Bobby makes a change its take solano off and rearrange the team, why not play people in their proper positions. Bowyer is an attacking midfielder that will get you 10-15 goals a season, how many have Jenas, Dyer and Speed scored between them this year? I know he was unavailable today but this has gone on for long enough for changes to be made. Some of the crowd started to turn on Jenas today, so why not take him out of the firing line for a few weeks until he gets his form back?

Too many of our players think that they have made it and theres no need to put the effort in, which is refelcted by the quiet crowds, when was the last time you saw someone play with real passion??? Shearer always gives 110% and Robert has started to work but no-one else seems to care.

Got to disagree about Dyer though, again a player who looks nice when he has the ball but all to often there is no end product. Remember 2 seasons ago when he linked up with solano to tear defences apart down the channels???? When was the last time he done that??

There are so many things wrong that would be easily fixed. If players aren't playing well then drop them, Fergusion or Wenger would do it, sometimes the youngsters need a rest, play people on their proper position, again basic stuff and for Christs sake give Viana more than 5 minutes here and there. One season wonders can win national awards but cant remember many who have won european awards, there too many quality coaches judging them.

I know this post might ramble on and bring up old points but feel so angry and dissappointed, suppose I better go to the pub to calm down.

JW:

I watched the match on telly and the application from Newcatle was pitiful. I take the point that Blackburn stopped us from playing but that's no excuse for sloppy passing and slipshod defending is it?! The Toon need to get our injured players back fit, we need to sign a couple of quality players. And Bobby needs to buy a packet of cotton buds and some hob nail boots. The first so he can clean the players ears out so they can hear him telling them what to do! The second to lend some force to him when he kicks them up the backside!
