MACKEMS WANT CALDWELL
Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy is hoping to push through a permanent deal for Newcastle United defender Stephen Caldwell.
Stoke City made an offer of £100,000 for the Scottish international, but it was rejected last week.
Caldwell has been watched regularly by Mick in reserve-team action this season and he wants to sign the centre-half before he becomes available on a Bosman in the summer.
