NOBS BACKING AMBROSE
Winger Nolberto Solano is backing young teammate Darren Ambrose to make a big impact at Newcastle - in the very near future.
Solano faces a battle with Ambrose for a regular first-team place and admits that the teenager has a great future ahead of him after signing for £1m signing from Ipswich towards the end of last season.
But the 19-year-old's last-minute equaliser at Leicester on Boxing Day after coming off the bench proved to United's fans and team-mates just what he is capable of.
"Darren is a very good young player and I'm sure he'll go on to become a very important part of our team," said Solano.
"It's just a case of him continuing to work hard for his chance. When it comes, he will prove how good he is.
"He will really start to come into his own when he starts to play more games.
"For now, he's just waiting for his chance and is working very hard to earn that opportunity, which is good to see in such a young player."
