BOOST FOR NEWCASTLE
Newcastle United could have Craig Bellamy back in action by the end of next month, and soon Kieron Dyer.
Sir Bobby Robson told the Chronicle: "We could have Craig Bellamy back by the end of January. Originally we were talking about early to mid- February but there's a feeling within the club that he could come back a bit earlier.
"He's keen to get going again and we have missed him."
Shola Ameobi also carries some good news.
Sir Bobby added: "By the time LuaLua goes off to the African Nations Cup Shola could just about be right. Indeed, there is an outside chance of him being available for our game with Manchester United at Old Trafford on January 11.
"Obviously he cannot run at the moment but he is now doing some bike work which is great for his heart and lungs and also his calves and thighs.
"And he could even be on a football pitch in a week's time but we will not rush him."
Kieron Dyer has been given the all-clear to train again after suffering from stomach problems.
