MAGPIES CHASE KONCHESKY
Left-back Paul Konchesky could move to St James' Park soon, as Newcastle United reportedly prepare a £2m bid for the defender.
Konchesky has only just returned to Charlton following a three-month loan spell at Tottenham and featured Charlton's recent victories over Chelsea and then Spurs.
The 22-year-old is needed by Addicks boss Alan Curbishley at The Valley due to injuries, Sir Bobby Robson is set to make a cash bid.
Newcastle were linked with the defender in the summer but nothing materialised and he went to Spurs on loan.
His future at The Vally is still uncertain, but he has a deal at The Valley which does not expire until summer 2005.
