Newcastle United boss Sir Bobby Robson has confirmed that he would love to see Henrik Larsson - but has been told that the Celtic striker will now be available until the summer.

Larsson is 99% certain to leave Celtic in the summer and is expected attract great interest from many English clubs.

Robson believes that Larsson star would be a hit in the Premiership aswell as being a perfect partner for Alan Shearer.

ROBSON SAID: "Larsson may be 32 and has been playing easy football in Scotland.

"But when it comes to European football he has shown he is still a class act.

"Larsson is someone who could play alongside Shearer - I've no doubt about that.

"I understand he is not available until the end of the season as Celtic are still involved in Europe and will not let him go.

"So we can forget about Larsson until the shop window opens again in the summer.

"He is a player we have watched continually."
