Newcastle United Youngsters Lift Cup

We actually managed to win a penalty shoot-out. Well the academy lads did anyway, on Italian soil. And we lifted a Trophy at long last.

A Newcastle victory in a penalty shootout handed our youngsters the Ferrarelle Napoli International Cup Yesterday, after beating Panathinaikos 4-3, in the shoot out.

A 0-0 score line at the end of normal time and our winning penalty was hit home by striker Carl Finnigan after Guy Bates, Phil Cave and Martin Brittain had earlier converted from the spot.

Now if only they could only teach the grown-ups how to take them, I for one would be eternally grateful.

So lets hope the 1st team follow their example and bring us a trophy this time around.
