Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given has revealed how he hasn't spoken to Manchester United's Roy Keane since he walked out of Ireland prior to the 2002 World Cup.
Given said, "I haven't spoken to Roy Keane since then.
"I still think he's a world class player and I'd be lying if I said we didn't miss him, but if Roy Keane doesn't want to play for his country for whatever reasons, then that's up to him. I wouldn't have a problem with him coming back to the Republic side, but I won't be on bended knee asking him.
"Roy had his views, the Ireland manager had his and they were different.
"Will I try to speak to him after the game? Probably not. For me there are more important things in the world and far bigger problems.''
