Carl Cort has been given the go ahead to leave St James' Park after a nightmare three-and-a-half year spell that saw him only manage 24 appearances and 8 goals following a £7m move in 2000 from Wimbledon. If you add on the £2.5 million in wages we have spent each goal he has scored has cost about £1million.

Cort had a medical at Molineux yesterday before watching Wolves draw 1-1 with Liverpool to move within three points of safety.

Im not sad to see him go he has been on the wage bill far to long doing nothing, he is behind Ameobi, LuaLua and Chopra in the pecking order and hopefully his departure will pave the way for Alan Smith.

I also hope he does well at Wolves, He’s a good player just needs to stay clear of injuries. Good Luck and Bye Bye
