Newcastle United’s Nolberto Solano has been SOLD to Aston Villa after their previous 1million bid for him was rejected.

This time round the fee has not been revealed by either club and the whole move has been kept under wraps. But its has been speculated to be around 3Million

A villa spokesman confirmed the move "We can confirm that we have agreed a fee for Solano with Newcastle."

This week Solano has been the talk of the Toon with the press linking him and Griffin to Birmingham.

It is thought that the sale of Solano put together with that of Former striker Carl Cort will provide a bank to bring in Nicky Butt who is estimated to cost around 5Million and Tottenham’s Stephen Carr. Both who have been rumoured to join Newcastle for several weeks.

The news will come as a blow for Newcastle fans who have always been supportive of the Peruvian midfielder. Even chanting his name in support when he was subbed against Liverpool!

Solano joined the Magpies in 1998 from Boco Juniors and has made a great impact in his 250 appearances for the team.
