Birmingham Make Villa Sign Injured Nobby?

Rumour has it that Birmingham City were never actually interested in signing Newcastle United winger Nobby Solano and that they only pretended to be interested in order to get Villa to sign him.

Apparantly, Solano has a problem with his knee or something to that effect and Sir Bobby Robson wanted to sell him anyway.

This has been reported in a few papers around Birmingham (Local Express and Star), and a few Blues fans have also mentioned it to me.

Solano is a good player and Robson had no reason to let someone of his quality leave for a cut price. It is an embarrassing price to NUFC and Solano himself - so there MUST be something else to the deal.

Anyway, I will let you make your own minds up about this. It MAY be just rumours!
