ROBSON FORCED TO SELL NOBBY
|
The 29-year-old joined David O'Leary's Villa side earlier this week for a cut-price in a deal which has angered many Toon fans.
Nobby Solano however, has claimed that it was the club's board that wanted him out, and Robosn was forced to sell him.
"It was the board who wanted me to go," said Solano. "They could have asked for a higher transfer fee if they wanted me to stay, especially as my contract had another year and a half to run.
"There was certainly nothing wrong between me and Bobby. I've got no complaints about him and we had a good relationship.
"I respect his decision and would like to apologise to Newcastle fans. They were very good to me and I'm sorry to leave them and the club."
