BELLAMY'S MIND BATTLE

"In my opinion he is ready: I just have to convince him now," said Robson. "He still needs to be convinced and that's why we're talking to him.

"I can understand him being a little bit cautious, he has had serious knee injuries and operations, and he has got to look after his knees.

"He played 90 minutes for the reserves on Monday and his knee is fine. He says he has never felt better, that all the pain has gone, that the restriction has gone. So the doubt should have gone.

"I think he is ready to start. I had a long talk with him on Thursday and again on Friday - but he is still a bit guarded about the situation."
