Blackburn Rovers are wary of the return of old hero Alan Shearer to Ewood Park tonight - who seems to have a nack of scoring against his former club, having bagged two goals on each of his last three visits to his old club.

ROVERS WARY OF SHEARER RETURN

Rovers assistant manager Tony Parkes has admitted how he believes that United skipper Shearer is still one of the best strikers around.
He said: "He's up there with the best of them. Newcastle may have the pace of Kieron Dyer and Craig Bellamy but Alan Shearer is a vital part of their team still.
"He likes to score a goal against us and we will be looking out for that. He's still a threat although they have other weapons in the team, players with a lot of energy.
"We won't just be keeping an eye on Shearer but he's certainly a fantastic player. It's always spicy when former players return to the club and, let's face it, Alan Shearer was legendary here."
