BERNARD SPEAKS

OLIVIER BERNARD: "Blackburn was another opportunity missed and we know it. We could have lost the game in the first half but we improved after the break and Craig managed to get the goal which could and should have won us the game. But once again we conceded late on. It's happened a couple of times lately and we can't finish games when it matters. We can't keep clean sheets away from home and so we're paying the price.

"It's extremely disappointing and this week we will have to think long and hard about what we are doing wrong. We cannot keep dropping points. It's vital that we finish fourth and with too many draws we just won't do that. Liverpool won on Wednesday but we didn't. That makes it harder to take.

"It's a massive boost to have both Laurent and Craig Bellamy back in contention. Craig scored a magnificent goal at Ewood Park and it's important that we finish the season with a near fully-fit squad.

"Laurent managed to get through the game but he was a bit tired towards the end. He did well bearing in mind he had hardly trained for a week and it won't be long before he's back to his best.

"I'm sure we'll see a different Laurent against Middlesbrough once he has had a good rest this week. We have the ability to score many goals between now and the summer."
