Robert Visiting Family - Instead Of French Footy

ROBERT INJURY - INT. SELECTION?

Robert played during Wednesday night's 1-1 draw at Blackburn, but had a quiet night. However, he hoped that his recent form would be good enough to catch the eye of Les Bleus’ selection committee, but Robert's name was not on the squad list when France revealed their pool of players for the game with Belgium.

However, Robert is now looking forward to catching up with his relatives.

He has been back and forwards across the channel since picking up a knee injury in the draw at Birmingham City, but he was happy to be back on Wednesday.

“I went to see the specialist in France and there were no problems with my knee, so I was very happy to play against Blackburn,” he said.

“My knee is okay and there were no problems with it.

"After the game at Birmingham last week there were also no problems, but then on the flight home it all came up and I could hardly drive home.

"But I only got back into training on Tuesday and my fitness was not very good against Blackburn and I know I did not play very well.

“But we have a break now before we play Middlesbrough, and everyone will be refreshed by that game.

"I am looking forward to having the break now and will be ready for Middlesbrough."
