Players and Manager alike this week have received a warning from Chairman Freddy Shepherd declaring that 5th place isn’t acceptable – fourth is where we have to finish. "It is vital we get back into the Champions League,"

"It is vital we get back into the Champions League,"

"We have to keep this good run going but it's still not good enough. The players know it, the manager knows it, and I know it."

Currently level with Liverpool on points and with only 7 points separating fourth from thirteenth Newcastle have to continue winning games and gaining points.

Many critics have said from the beginning of the season that Newcastle Utd wouldn’t be able to meet last seasons standards – yet so far they are being proved wrong – just.

"The supporters know it as well so we have to get back on winning ways and stay there."

And says that qualifying for Champions League football is crucial!
