Jonathan Woodgate is struggling to be fit for Newcastle's clash with Middlesbrough at St James' Park on Saturday. Woodgate is still being troubled by a groin injury.

Jonathan Woodgate is struggling to be fit for Newcastle's clash with Middlesbrough at St James' Park on Saturday.

The defender is still being troubled by the groin injury which kept him out of last week's 1-1 draw against Blackburn.

Robson remains optimistic that Woodgate will not require surgery, despite him having undergone a double hernia operation earlier in the season.
