When the teams were paired together in the draw last year, Sir Bobby's immediate concern was the possibility of playing in freezing temperatures associated with Norway in February time.
Robson was so concerned that he even requested a change of venue for the first-leg and has told his substitutes that they would have to "keep active the whole time (on the bench) so they don`t freeze".
However, although the Norwegian capital is cold, clear and calm conditions have been forecast for Thursday's match.
Snow showers and strong, Arctic winds, have been forecast for Newcastle however!.
"(In Oslo) it will be slightly overcast but stable weather," Inge Johannessen of the Storm Weather Centre told TV2 Nettavisen.
"The temperature will vary between -2 and -4 at the start of the match, and will drop during the course of the night to around -8.
"But it will be just as cold in Newcastle. Here, there are forecasts of precipitation in the form of snow and a cold and bitter wind. To be honest it wouldn't have helped them playing at home.
"I'd much rather be here in Oslo than in England on Thursday," Johannessen added.
Valerenga assistant coach Lars Bohinen believes Robson must have got his wires crossed.
"Bobby Robson clearly doesn't know what he's talking about," Bohinen said.
"Maybe he thinks he's coming to Siberia or something," he added.
"It's just not true that the weather is so much worse here than it is in Newcastle. And it's nonsense to say the weather will be to our advantage.
"I don't think the weather in Oslo will come as such a big shock to the Newcastle players."
