SHEARER ODDS ON FOR MANAGER

The former England striker was angry at Robson's decision to leave him out of the side for Thursday's UEFA Cup clash at Valerenga, but the the layers still see him as the most likely replacement when Sir Bobby decides to step down.

Other odds include... 6/4 for anyone other than Shearer replacing Sir Bobby.

Shearer is 7/1 to leave the club before the first day of next season, while manager Sir Bobby Robson is 1/4 to still be in charge at the start of the 2004/5 campaign.

Robson is also 11/4 to leave before the end of the current season.
