SHEARER SPEAKS OF UEFA CUP SUCCESS

Following an amazing performance at home to Real Mallorca last week in which Robson's men came from 1-0 down to win 4-1, the Magpies' would have to practically self-destruct to lose thier place in the competition.
A horrendous first-half display against the Spaniards, left Newcastle 1-0 down, but thanks to an inspired second-half performance, United are still in the cup.
Shearer is fully aware that reaching the quarter-finals should know be a formality and said: "The Uefa Cup is a very important competition for us and we will need that three-goal cushion in Spain.
"But it would take a huge error for us now to let a quarter-final place slip through our hands."
