NO FUTURE FOR KERR

Speaking to the Daily Record, Kerr said: "My frustrations totally boiled over at Newcastle United.

"I was out on the sidelines for four months and everything just got on top of me. I had been told certain things that were just not true. And when I wasn't even registered to play in their European games it hurt me badly.

"I don't know what I had done as I had given my all for Newcastle in the games that I had played for them and I did not let anybody down. Bobby Robson never took me aside to explain why I had been frozen out of the first-team picture.

"I was not taken on the pre-season tour and I realised then that it was not going to happen for me at Newcastle. I don't think I deserve to be treated the way I was this season.

"I was never given any insight into why I was treated so disrespectfully and players always look for reasons when their face suddenly doesn't fit. In my case, I couldn't find any. There was no light at the end of the tunnel for me so I had to get out of that situation.

"I was just happy to see the back of St James' Park to tell you the truth and I'll make that move permanent come the summer."
