RANSON TO TAKE OVER VILLA?
|
The Sun claimed today that Ray Ranson, aged 43, has been in 'secret talks' with Aston Villa chairman Doug Ellis for the past few months and is now upping his fight to gain control on the Premiership club.
The former England U21 captain worked in sports finance and insurance and first made his name with the Benfield Group and the late Chelsea director Matthew Harding.
Sources close to Ellis say that Ranson's plans have impressed him during several secret discussions.
Ranson is hoping to be in control at Villa Park in time to start planning for the summer - in which big-names will be expected at the club.
