ROBSON'S REACTION
|
Robson said: "We lost the game by a fluke goal today. The referee didn't give the push on young Taylor and the next thing it is in the back of the net, I don’t think even Pedersen thought it would go in.
"Steven Taylor has had a baptism of fire today and he has done very well especially in an unfamiliar position.
"We did miss a couple of great chances in the first half but I never crib about missed chances as sometimes they go for you and sometimes they don't.
"If we could have got an equaliser then we would have been in position to win it but when you are playing catch up, you are just chasing the draw.
"I gambled with the triple substitution, I couldn't let the game fizzle out, so I had to try something especially as legs started tiring. We had to go for it and I think the lads that went on did well, but if you don’t score you never win matches and we didn’t score today, simple as that.
"Despite losing that early goal, we had the better of the first half but Bolton worked hard in the second 45 minutes to deny us space.
"It is going to be nip and tuck between now and the end of the season. We are not pulling away, all we have done today is maintain our position so there is a lot left to play for."
