Since being signed in the season of 97/98 by Kenny Dalglish for 2M Griffin has suffered a number of injuries, keeping him out of the game.

His latest injury is an achilles problem keeping him out of a length of time. He is currently waiting to see a specialist to confirm the extent of the injury. Griffin hasn’t played for the toon since October in the carling cup game against West Brom and prior to that was not a regular in the team having started just 90 first team games.

This will come as a blow to former Stoke City player Griffin as he had high hopes at Newcastle.

When Griffin has been on form he has provided some excellent football contriuting to the game. However this level wasnt consistent enough for Sir Bobby Robson to keep him on.
