Magpies' skipper Alan Shearer wants to put the disappointment of the Bolton game in the past as his side MUST get three points against Everton. A draw will be good enough according to the former England striker.

SHEARER: WE MUST WIN

Shearer said: "Home form this season is what has kept us in the race for fourth place, because if we're honest the form away from home has been poor.

"We've drawn games we should have won, then on other occasions like last Sunday we've got exactly what we've deserved and lost.

"We want that fourth place, though you wouldn't have thought it if you looked at our second half display at Bolton. The defeat was disappointing to say the least, and we have to bounce back against Everton.

"It's a big, big game for us and one we cannot afford to lose, or even draw for that matter. It's a must-win match for us.

"The last home game against Charlton was a similar must-win situation for us, and we produced what I consider to be our best display of the season in that game. That's what we have to aim for on Saturday."

Former strike-partner, Duncan Ferguson, will not be playing, neither will Wayne Rooney, but Shearer was full of praise for the duo, and full of praise for Kevin Campbell - who IS playing.

Shearer added: "Wayne Rooney will be a big miss for them because he is a great player who deserves to get all the hype that he does, while we all know about what a problem Big Dunc can be.

"But we know Kevin Campbell will keep us busy if he plays. He has a great record against us over the years, and while I'm not sure what it is exactly I'd guess it's about six goals in his last six games.

"We'll have to keep an eye on him, that's for sure."
