Sir Bobby Hails "Fantastic" Performances

ROBSON: FANTASTIC FORM

Magpies' manager Sir Bobby Robson believes that Newcastle's league-posititon does not reflect thier performances in the Uefa Cup and Premiership this season.

Newcastle head into Thursday night's Uefa Cup quarter-final first leg away against PSV Eindhoven following a string of excellent results in the competition.

Veteran boss, Sir Bobby, has slammed critics who think that his side hav under-achieved this season, insisting that his players have been fantastic.

Robson said: "Our season hasn't finished yet. As things stand, we're fighting for fourth place in the Premiership and have a chance of making the Uefa Cup semi-finals.

"I think the players have performed fantastically. Overall - and it annoys me a bit when people suggest otherwise - the players have done very well for me this season.

"I just wish people would look at where we are and put the whole thing into perspective. But people don't."
