Woody: He's A Phenomenon! An Unbelievable Player!

WOODGATES AWE FOR SHEARER

24-year-old Jonathan Woodgate, who is currently restoring his reputation at the club since missing games due to injury, speaks about how much he rates Newcastle team-mate Alan Shearer.

Woodgate is a hero at the back, but claims that when 33-year-old striker Alan Shearer is in full-flight, doing what he does best, Woodgate is struck with awe.

"He's a phenomenon," said the England international.

"He's an unbelievable player. You watched him against Everton last week and the way he leads the line is unbelievable.

"Sometimes when the ball goes up to him, you're thinking 'How is he going to get that?'. But he gets it and it's just hard to believe.

"He's a magnificent player."
